Todo lector que se respeta sabe que su biblioteca se divide en 2 grandes partes: la primera conformada por los libros que ha le\u00eddo y la segunda por los libros que posee y a\u00fan se encuentran sin leer.<\/p>\n

Esta segunda categor\u00eda puede parecer sorprendente para muchos quiz\u00e1s m\u00e1s acostumbrados a pensar en las bibliotecas personales como un monumento al conocimiento conformado por la selecta disposici\u00f3n de libros-ladrillos que representan las ideas que tanto atesora.<\/p>\n

Pero desde esos estantes (usualmente polvorientos) tambi\u00e9n nos observan aquellos libros que esperan pacientes por nosotros. Nassim Nicholas Taleb<\/a>, entendi\u00f3 muy bien este concepto y acu\u00f1\u00f3 en ingl\u00e9s el t\u00e9rmino: \u00abAntilibrary<\/a>\u00ab. En su libro\u00a0The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable<\/a>, Taleb nos comenta lo siguiente:<\/p>\n

\u201cA private library is not an ego-boosting appendage but a research tool. Read books are far less valuable than unread ones. The library should contain as much of what you do not know as your financial means, mortgage rates, and the currently tight real-estate market allows you to put there. You will accumulate more knowledge and more books as you grow older, and the growing number of unread books on the shelves will look at you menacingly. Indeed, the more you know, the larger the rows of unread books. Let us call this collection of unread books an antilibrary.\u201d<\/p>\n
